The whole general collapse of Bush has been a gradual thing, though - my friend was looking at some 2000 election campaign videos, and noticed that he is a hundred times more coherent there than recent years. Back then he was stupid, but he could finish a sentence and you could see why he could charm the foolish, whereas now...

He comes across as a drunk, rambling halfwit for sure. and what he's saying makes it especially frightening - but does he really seem any different now compared to at any other point during the last seven years? I dunno, I guess I'm not exposed to his mumblings as often as you Americans are, but to me he's always seemed like a slightly confused drunk trying to discuss things way beyond his intellectual grasp.
