I am currently listening to that bootleg of the Cake Shop show and i agree with the CCR meets Jehu sentiment. And i also have a bit of a boner listening to it. Really really good.

Has it already been 2-1/2 years since Hot Snakes stopped playing? Well, glad to hear neither of these guys have lost their chops.

I made it to the Obits show, glad a I did. I really dug it, even if I was initially thrown by the CCR touch.
They are supposed to be playing Philly soon, (Johnny Brendas), but the club initially posted it as a Drive Like Jehu show (instead of ex-DLJ) so people were freaking out.

I saw Night Marchers in Portland last night. The venue had poor sound so it was hard to tell if any of the songs were good, but they brought the rock. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the standard that Hot Snakes set. Kind of meh, but pretty good.
