that's tomorrow and i'll be there.
Dogs doesn't seem to be getting a lot of mention. I don't know whether it's because it was my introduction to these goshdarn lovely sounds or what, but it's definitely my favorite. That and Run to Ruin for me can't be beat. not crap in the slightest, even with the commerical business.

133So, any word on how the D.C. or Chapel Hill shows were? The Atlanta date is tonight and I can't wait to see it.

D.C. was great. Garland of Hours opened here, and Nina told a pretty funny story about taking an Isadora Duncan dance class. Have fun in Atlanta.

136Saw her last night - first time I've heard her. It was a solo acoustic show, and despite having a gorgeous voice, it wasn't anything I haven't heard from the best part of an open mic night. I'm not going to vote, because I still haven't heard her with a band, but I was pretty bored for my 10 bucks.

137Nobody at the Cagibi knows much about tonight's show, other than that they've been getting calls about it all week and that they expect to wildly exceed their 61-person capacity. No postering, minimal mention of it in the papers, no Stillepost thread even.
BTSB people say that she'll go on around 10:30 or 11. I'm going to head round at 8:30 in case it's filling up early with rapt nastasians.

Hear her with a band. I just watched a video of This Is What It Is on youtube and to be honest, without the band it's pretty weak (the album version is fantastic). Her voice is great but I'm not a fan of fingerpicking a little melody over and over. Hear her with a band before you dismiss her.
I've been dining out on The Blackened Air for two years now. Today I'm gonna buy Run to Ruin.
Maybe I'll go crazy and finally buy my second Silkworm album too. Sometimes I fixate on albums and forget that a band or singer probably has more music I'll love.

i thought it was pretty great night despite the poor sound and motor mouths behind me. even got a bit teary, but i'm a sucker for that sort of thing.
i arrived with a friend in tow toward the end of the opener and they were already turning people away...
