Venom.
When I was 12 that was some scary shit.

A friend of mine got one of these as part of a "Jandek grab-bag" he ordered from Corwood Industries - if I recall, they were five random Jandek records tossed into a parcel and sent his way. The "acapella" one was utterly nerve-shattering.
I forgot how good at unsettling Throbbing Gristle can be. Also, Scott Walker scared the shit out of me the first time I listened to The Drift - it was late at night, in my basement, I was running low on sleep, and Walker was crooning at me atop dissonant strings, charging drums and relentlessly atonal guitar. I suddenly had strong empathy for all things tortured or executed - Walker has the knack for soothing your ears while sneaking his band around to slit your throat.

Burzum rules.
Varg's getting out of jail soon.
Word.
Gorgoroth is probably the scariest and most legit Black Metal band ever.

Nothing too scary here.
Though I do enjoy a little black metal every now and then, I hardly find any of it scary. More posturing than anything else. I mean, there's a dude in Immortal who can't even keep his fly zipped during photoshoots. Maybe I'm too cynical, but it just seems like a way to get attention more than an actual way of life.
But hey, I'll admit that they are really successful PR people. How many of us would have even heard about Burzum if Varg hadn't turned himself into a little media darling?

68The song "Tainted Love" always kind of spooks me, oddly enough.
The band Coil always kind of spooks me.
Coils version of the song "Tainted Love" basically leaves me shitless.

69Perhaps an obvious choice, but the self-titled Sun City Girls record is spooking me out at the moment, in a very rich, delicious sort of way. There's an evil comedian thing to it, as if they're suddenly going to pluck you out of the audience and comically gut you while applauding.
Also, "Altar" is genuinely dark.
