Oh man, that sucks. I really liked that guy's stuff. I used his web pages a lot for advice on things.

I have a Burley Runabout-7 and a Jamis Aurora.

I got the Aurora last spring and planned on selling the Burley. I'm glad I never sold it, as it is an excellent foul-weather bike, and I ride it to the train a fair amount.

The Aurora is a very nicely equipped, reasonably priced bike. Fits me well and is very comfortable to ride.

Much prefer steel to aluminum for Chicago streets especially.

My main summer ride: A Cannondale 2.8 with a mixed Ultegra/105 group. Super light and fast bike. Weighs about 18.5 pounds. Bontrager Race-X-lite AC tires for city riding. I love this bike. It IS a stiff ride though. I know you guys hate aluminum frames etc... I got this bike for a song, being such an un-cool brand/type.



My off-season/crappy weather ride: A mid-80s Raleigh Technium with a indexed Suntour Alpha setup. Not as light as the 'Can O' Ale', but still pretty good at about 23 pounds. I think this once will become a single-speed, as the Suntour shifting is really pretty crappy. Bontrager Hardcase tires for even more treacherous city riding.

I loved my Cannondale mountain bike, Delta V 1500, ugly as sin but big oversized aluminium tubes rendered it bomb-proof if not thief-proof. It wasn't as stiff as the GT Zaskar that replaced it. Aluminium too and really stiff. Great bike though.

Good eye! They do. The Cannondale is a 56cm seat tube and a 54cm TT and the Raleigh is a 58cm seat tube and a 56cm TT . They feel about the same though.
