It's like erto. I had a philosophy teacher tell us on the first day of class that if anyone used the word erto she would drop them from the class because it was a pretentios filler word. Granted she was a philosophy teacher. I liked to think of her more as the flakey feminist type and less of the asshole mid-50's corduroy jacket wearing pretentious type.

When I was looking for photos for the 'winner' thread he came up a lot, and I thought it would be amusing to have him up. I liked the weird sharkiness of the grin too, so he has stayed up. (I nearly did the 'winner' thread as a sock puppet called 'Tony' or something, but decided not to in the end).

I did read one of his books once (my dad is a fan) which disturbingly and distractingly lionized Ronald Reagan every four pages or so, plus it was dense on pseudoscience and NLP and bullshit.

The only actually useful self-help type books I have read which didn't make me want to throw them across the room are First Things First by Stephen Covey and Getting Things Done by David Allen. I might start a thread about them one day.


It's strange that a google search doesn't display any negative comments about him for at least 20 pages. My brother-in-law, whom I actually like is deeply into his teachings and has attending his seminars and side shows and such. Much expense! Is there any link to Scientology? I have my suspicions.

Awful.

Sounds affected when Americans say it, 98% of the time. Not as bad as "flat", but more desparate. Put in play by people who are over-eager to display their intelligence rather than have a conversation.

I wonder who the biggest American user on the PRF is...

Probably russ.
