never heard a note of their recorded work, or anything. they always did seem pretty good, though.

VS. is all ya need.

I disagree. Burma is far from the kind of band in which one recording can substitute for all the rest. So get em all: Vs., Signals, The Horrible Truth, ONoffON, and The Obliterati. I also really like Forget.

Matador have posted some details and the new editions sound tasty indeed -- extra tunes, bonus DVD's, lotsa fancy graphics, the whole nine yards. Guess I can toss those old Ryko CD's ...

Glad the vinyl will come with the DVD's and download coupons.

I still can't fathom the idea that of all bands in town, fucking funclub opened up for Mission of Burma in Chicago.
I will never understand how such a thing happened, and how they were able to leave the stage unscathed.
I mean hearing that Shellac were opening for Metallica would make more sense.
Fugazi opening for Avril Lavinge would make more sense.
Fucking funclub.

He's right they did. We couldn't even drink a beer in a booth on the side of the abbey peacefully and ignore them. All three of those bands were not just crap, but annoying the hell out of you while they did their best to try to feel clever.

If someone says, in Chicago, "Hey, d'ya wanna open for mission of burma?" , I refuse to believe these are the three bands that would say "We'd be delighted to."

Back to Champ's Rock Room, they go.

It reminded me of when someone's obnoxious 5 year old is acting like a little shit in a doctor's office, and no one's got the balls to walk right over and tell them to fucking shut it and quit their bullshit, what with common courtesy being an 11th commandment. But you can't ignore it.
