Sleepkid - Bullard for England? I'd stick that sign in my garden. He is probably just good enough, but what you say about morale is true; more than that, he'd be a hell of a lot more interesting than the rest of the squad put together.

Speaking of international football: Trappatoni to manage Ireland. Here is the infamous video of him losing it at Bayern Munich; relevant to this forum as the subtitles helpfully translate his rant into fake-Italian.

Kevin Blackwell is manager of Sheffield United until the end of the season. It will be interesting to see how that turns out.

Tommydski will be dancing on the streets of Aberdeen tonight: well, kind of. 2-2 with Bayern Munich is very creditable, and it could have been a win had Leeds youth product Alan Maybury not handled in the box to give away an equalising penalty.

I actually have photos of myself dancing on the streets of Bolton outside a derelict former dance school, and Wanderers tonight beat Atletico Madrid by a Boltonesque score of 1-0 thanks to a late, Bolton-style goal.

And Tottenham beat Slavia Prague, although if the game had been decided on who had the nicest kit, Slavia would have won hands down.

I've never seen Bullard play a game where he wasn't covering every blade of grass on the pitch, and possibly more important, he has the one thing the England team lacks: a sense of humour.

Huddlestone though? After the FA splashing out £6 million on Capello, do you honestly think they've got enough in the coffers for his pie requirement?

Maybe they could get Ginsters in as a sponsor...

Huddlestone has slimmed down a bit and looks better each game. If he stays fit and his game continues to improve at this rate, he'll be world class in another year or so.

Ahahahaha.

Ahahahahahahahaha.

Hahahaha.

Don't forget that Blackwell has some form here; he was assistant manager at Sheffield United before he came to Leeds, and it was there that he built up his reputation.

The B fucking B fucking C wrote:Blackwell is a popular figure at the south Yorkshire club, with fans regarding him as pivotal in their successful 2002-3 season, when they reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup and League Cup, and the play-off final.

It may not quite equate to the return of a 'Steel Messiah' but some managers do just 'work' at certain clubs; and I'll still take Leeds' playoff season (and the Blunts prior success with him as assistant) as evidence that somewhere in there is a good manager. Like I say, it'll be interesting to see how this works out.

Sepp Blatter In "Not Being A Total Numpty" Shocker:

Sepp Blatter wrote:The president of football's world governing body Fifa has told the BBC that plans by the Premier League to host games abroad will never happen.

"This does not take into consideration the fans of the clubs and it gives the impression that they just want to go on tour to make some money," Blatter said.

"This will never happen, at least as long as I am the president of Fifa."

I believe the appropriate expression at this point is "In your face". As in, "In your face, Premier League!"

He went to bed about a decade ago, or whenever he sold his soul to the bankers and the elites.
