It is like you have some kind of syndrome that makes you unable to say something rude--- if it is about a woman.
You haven't a clue as to what you are speaking about.
I say rude shit all the time about women, there are tons of shitty women with big targets on their back. Kathleen Hanna is not one of them.
Kathleen Hanna has worked hard her whole life to build a community of musicians and artists around her, when she got a little bit of notoriety she used it to lift all kinds of other people up with her. She talks tirelessly about the people in art she admires and who have helped her get to where she's at, read any interview with her....she is not bragging about how cool she is, she's talking about all the other artists she thinks are cool and worthwhile. Go find ANY interview with her and read it.
I have stacks of zines she made with her own hands, they are filled with art, ideas and writing in them that would blow your mind. There's more substance to her than 99% of idiot male musicians out there.
You speak about her 'social networking' or whatever like people speak about women all over the world 'Oh she's just got that job because of who she's fucking' or 'She's only well known because her boyfriend is famous'
Fuck that shit, man. That women has worked her ass off for a long time, gotten shit on by assholes and punk rockers from coast to coast. And she came out on top, she got her point across.
She's been involved in some of the best records I have ever heard going way back. The first Bikini Kill EP just may be the best record ever made. The first Le Tigre record is spotless.
There are very few people out there I see absolutely nothing to criticize them about. She's one of them.
Well, aside from writing a song for Paris Hilton's album. I'll just assume she did it as a joke, or at least used the money for something cool.
