THUNDERDOME: Olive Oil vs. Butter

1
You cannot simply make your butter from cream and avoid the stipulations of the challenge. You cannot pick olives and press your oil from them. On this imaginary plane of existence, butter or olive oil cannot exist.

Choose one.

I will miss olive oil for a lot of applications, howeve, lack of butter just eliminates total buttery goodness.

Do you even know what a pastry is? You eat Little Debbies and think that they are delicious.

I don't think little debbies are delicious; I used to think they tasted pleasant and fulfilled some kind of childhood reward response in me. I'd get them as a treat on on a special occasion when I was happy, so as I got older, I associated them with good times. For instance, when I'd visit my mom on the weekends, she'd have them. As I get older, they seem more and more gross.

As for my upbringing, non of my family could cook, and my extended family just made the midwestern staples... meat dishes, stewed vegetables, breads, potatoes, etc. If they used olive oil, I didn't know it. however, butter always there on the table and went on damn near everything, to some extent. In fact it wasn't until I worked in the cafe at age 18 until I really knew there was an appreciative difference between oil types.

Now I know the difference, and I eat more delicious food than ever. However, if butter or olive oil were to just vanish from the planet one day, I think the butter vanishing would be more of a shock.
