Are you sure it wasn't like 1986? Because I saw him there around then. Crazy show. Skull on a stick.

He played Biddy Mulligan's like once a year back then, I was at that show in 1989. I remember his in between song banter, "I'm getting me some fur burger tonight after the show!"

To add it this SyntaxFree07, hasn't there always been a degree of "Social Networking" in this underground sphere, so you know, people in bands like the Minutemen, Big Black, et al. could get shows in towns that that don't know them from a fire hydrant? (The stories in Our Band Could be Your Life come to mind here)

Completely true and I thought someone might call me on it.

While she was doing her own thing-- I never thought her thing was interesting enough to catch anyone's attention if it wasn't for her piggy-backing. By no fault of her own, of course.

I probably dislike her more than I should, though. A few friends I was in my first band were crazy about her and made me cover a Le Tigre song.

I had a chance to see Man or Astro-man? at a "secret show" in Asheville.

Fuck.

This is really morbid, but I missed seeing (probably) Johnny Cash and a zillion other country music famous people at my uncle's funeral because my family didn't attend due to a complex situation that involved collective loathing and avoidance of my psychopathic drunk Aunt Sherry.

Was your uncle a famous country music person?

Yes, though the only people who seem to know who he is are either obscenely old or else really into rockabilly culture.
