Word has it they met last night for a few hours and talked about SOMETHING. Obama spent 5 minutes talking about how great Hillary is last night at the begining of his speech.
Then today they float this?

I haven't seen a poll yet that suggested McCain would even contest Obama, nor have I seen one where Clinton would beat McCain in the general election. Hillary is far too divisive and I know a number of people who will not vote for her if she gets the nomination, myself included.

I agree with Germ. Obama will win easily if he is the nominee wherein if Hillary is the nominee the race becomes close. Obama mobilized a lot of young African-American voters to turn up for the primaries and I don't think Hill can woo them enough to swing them to her side.

In February, 2004 Kerry led Bush 53 to 46. Gore led Bush in polls also.

But then people thought Kerry was too "nuanced and French" and Gore wouldn't be a much fun to have a beer with as Bush. Could easily see people finding Obama too "urban" or some other contrived b.s. and I've already seen where people superficially judge Clinton for having an annoying "severe generic stern mom voice."

It'll be Obama-Clinton, not the other way around. As one republican strategist said last week on Meet the Press, right-wingers think the idea that the democrats could make HRC their nominee is absolutely hilarious. I believe he said: "How would they put that genie back in the bottle? 'Yes we can?' More like 'No, you can't!' Good luck with that!"

The democrats need a large african-american turnout to win the general no matter who the candidate is. Had Hillary not slandered the first african american candidate with a clear shot at the White House, she'd have no problem getting them to turnout. But if she's the nominee, they'll remember her as the person who denied them that. Barack is not a flash-in-the-pan. Nor is he Jesse Jackson, no matter what Bill Clinton would like you to believe.

Utter horseshit. Obama was down 20 pts or more in Texas and Ohio just three weeks ago. This is not a fad. Slap bracelets are a fad.

I find that contention rather distasteful. It reminds me of the palpable sense of "GW Bush is the anointed one" that i detected in the GOP and the media during the 2000 race, and especially the South Carolina primary. How dare McCain run against President Bush's son, and whatnot. Maybe i'm alone in feeling that attitude was out there, but it was the distinct feeling i got back then. obviously obama's campaign person fucked up with whatever he said about nafta. i don't know how much that weighed in the voting yesterday but it couldn't have helped. clinton is gonna get negative here really fast.

i noticed that at her rally yesterday her new "tag line" appeared to be "yes we will."

i thought that was a low move.
