as i live only 3 blocks away and the weather was quite perfect, i took a stroll by to see our boys of summer duking it out baseball style. if there was a simluated game i arrived too late, alas.
if i had woken up early enough i had intentions of trying out. it worked out for the best as i have no baseball skills, nor baseball pants, cleats, or a bat. kudos to everyone who can actually hit a moving ball.
back to being a waterboy for me.

One time my friend asked me to fix something on his laptop, so I changed the startup sound to an audio file of some guy getting head from another guy (sourced from an album!).
Not that i'd suggest you do such a thing....

We just scheduled them. March 29-30 at 10:00am - 12:00pm - Winnemac Park. We have several open roster spots this year. We are trying out pitchers sooner than that at an indoor place where we practice.
If you're interested, let me know.

45Played softball yesterday for the first time in years. Am I supposed to be this sore? I mean, I'm out of shape and all but this is a freakin' joke. I can hardly move. Is this normal? Does it get better as the season wears on? How do you guys play three days a week? (we lost 8-7 in extra innings, btw.)
My chest hurts.

46If you haven't played a sport in a long while where you are excessively using core muscles in bursts, like you did in softball, it is pretty normal to be extremely sore. Makes you feel alive, doesn't it? Give it 2-3 days before you do that again, and when you feel up to it, do some serious stretching once or twice a day. The 2nd time you play a game, you'll be sore for just a day, and the third time you probably won't be sore anymore after playing.
Beer after the game really helps, I've learned. Not necessarily with the soreness - just generally speaking, beer after everything helps.
