Dallas Fed Prez Richard Fisher was the lone voice of dissent in association with the Fed's half-point rate cut today. He knows that inflation is bad, but [wink-wink] he'll play the game he is supposed to play in the end.

Read a article yesterday that Officers and Directors were buying back company stock. This has to be posted with the goverment. The article spun this toward the fact that they were buying because they felt the future was going to be bullish for their companies. Not that the goverment was giving them loans to repurchase to create a false bottom in the market.

Yea the Fed did something kind of amazing that they are letting the security for the loans of cash be the bad loans themselves. Thus if the banks or private equity houses went into chaper 11 restructureing they could just directly unload the bad loans to the fed for the overvalued good cash. Quite amazing.

Aparently they are afraid of lowering intrest rates any more. Just the huge amounts of equity each week they keep pumping in should be a indication of how bad things are getting.

WSJ now reporting that Bear Sterns might announce tomorrow that it is getting sold outright to JP Morgan.

This ain't insignificant.
