hatred

why?

i must admit i don't know exactly. i feel like i'm in a coma, and in the coma i'm having a really boring dream. i hate how the singer slurs his words, i hate the line "catastrophe waitress". i hate how they sound. occasionally i like the horns.

He's british...

I consider Belle and Sebastian some pretty damn good songwriting, sure theres songs that i skip, but the good more than outweighs the bad for me.

And really, they're british, come on.

I think they're from Scotland.


I think their earlier stuff lacked direction. It was too easy to spot their influences and I wasn't into it. When Fold Your Hands Child... came out and I was hooked. They're good songwriters and they have really great arrangements.

i don't have a problem with the song writing ability, i'm just very uninterested in their sound. its just a personal taste i guess. maybe i got carried away with my passionate feelings of hatred.

They bother me, too. I don't like the songs, I don't like the lyrics, I don't like the album art, I don't like the fey singing, I don't like the spoken-word bits. I do like the horns sometimes.

Everytime I hear them, I want to kill something.

I liked one song once, for about the duration of it, before I decided I hated it. Oh lord, do I hate it so. I do like their sweaters.

Of course, we're on the Electrical Forum, where we use the name "Rapeman" in passing without thinking much about it.

If we were on "Horn rims and upper middle class depressed overeducated twenty-something" forum, the sight of a thread with "belle and sebastian" in the title would leave the keyboard very sticky and inoperable.
