i got confused there, too. the impression i got was that he was saying since you're talking about giving a shit about other people, you're not punk rock, because punk rock is about smashing people's faces and generally being an idiot, not about being thoughtful or socially responsible or something.

I think I knew what he was saying, I just couldn't figure out if he knew he was wrong and was joking around, or if he really meant it. Some days I have a hard time with sarcasm and I'm afraid I'm gonna offend somebody.
