I still have their first album. It came in a box that contained, besides the record and the lyric sheet, these things: a little pink button-up shirt with a red Caroliner logo over an image of some sort of pained squinting being. A Portland Jog-a-thon t-shirt turned inside out and printed with the same logo and image, this time in yellow. Pieces of crumbling old food.

I understand some of the rear end puppet show was recorded using ancient and impractical cylinder recording methods.

If you see them, and can't get near the front, watching from a distance can be equally entertaining.

I have some original Grux art.

The cover art is what got me to the band in the first place. It seems hard to appreciate the music w/o having the art to look at, which makes me like Caroliner even more. They're wonderous objects.

Frelnamp: I'm seething with envy over here.

Would kill to see this band live.

Since my idiotic post to this topic in 2004, I have purchased six or seven Caroliner albums, all of which are stellar. I am reaffirming my NOT CRAP vote. No waffle factor.
matthew wrote:His Life and his Death gives us LIFE.......supernatural life- which is His own life because he is God and Man. This is all straight Catholicism....no nuttiness or mystical crap here.

I booked them to play a show at an all-ages club sometime in the mid-90's. That was the first and only show I've ever booked.

While setting up the show, Grux would call me from payphones using some kind of phreaking device to avoid paying for long distance.

He would say incredibly odd things, and I would think he was being sarcastic, so I'd laugh at him, but now I realize he was quite serious.

They toured in a huge GMC Suburban. It was the size of a small school bus.

The show started with the band members sitting in a circle chanting "Mommy and I are one."
