Arthur C. Clarke posed the question of the possibility of life on Jupiter's moon Europa in his book 2010, which was published in 1984. A decade or so later, NASA started talking about sending probes to Europa to look for life.

Like Steve's example, this demonstrates the prescience we as a people have lost today.

Rest in Piece, Arthur. I hope it's full of stars.
