Head-butting an opponent in a fight: CRAP or NOT CRAP?

The head-butt almost always falls into the "cold-cock" category of tactics, where you sieze the advantage of surprise by being the first one to take violent physical action. Some would consider this cowardly.

Another factor to consider: Head-butts can be fatal under certain circumstances. If you hit the guy at the wrong angle, you could kill him outright.

Known here as the 'Glasgow kiss'.

A standard maneouvre in any street fight in Scotland.

Not Crap unless you are on the receiving end. Then, it is very much crap.

I've never done it. I had it done to me once on a bus, and it sucked. Nothing like bleeding in front of strangers on a moving conveyance to teach you some humility.

Cheap, pussyfied, ungentlemanly manoever, and the first tactic that I will attempt in the unlikely event that I am ever thrown down upon by a guy I know I can't take through conventional means.

I will go for the chest like that French soccer dude from a year or two ago.

That looked pretty effective.

I once did it accidentally in a fight and the results were astounding. I probably never would have done it on purpose.

I'm not a fighter, really. I can count all the 'serious' fights I've been in on one hand.
