Wow. they are amazing. Any ideas on what some of there gear is?
I like how John Stanier is still playing the same yellow kit in battles as in helmet.

5Ian Williams uses the silly expensive Echoplex by Gibson. It really is very good quality. Ian used to use Akai Headrush pedals but the quality of playback wasn't very good.
Dave Konopka uses a Line 6 DL4. I think that Tyondi Braxton uses one as well.
Both Ian and Tyondi are using Kontakt 2 on Power Macs with Fatar and M-Audio controllers respectively.

I think they use the Echoplexe Pro's for the quantizing and such, which may or may not be synched to their laptops.

7I spoke to Ian after the show the last time I saw them in Boston, and asked him a little about his set up. Nothing is midi synced or anything. The echoplex is not hooked up to anything other than his amp. The computers are just used for synth sounds, and arnt used for sampling or looping at all.
I think Battles live are incredible. I like the new record, but after seeing them play those songs live I haven't listened to the record at all.
