Is there any reason there are no API preamps at EA? There are other "colored" pres but no APIs.
Some electrical engineer at another forum said that they are basically exciters ... could that be the reason?
No API preamps at EA?
2I don't work at EA, but I've always avoided them for 2 reasons:
The rack stuff isn't compelling enough for the money.
The modulars (200,500 series) can't be used standalone (cause they're modular)
There is other stuff out there for around the same price that is more compelling (to me).

Do you mean Electrical, or electrical engineer?
I would like to have some api stuff, in the same way I would like to have some distressors, and more neves. Maybe we will get something if the opportunity arises, but it isn't like we are suffering without them. I haven't been in a situation where had I used an api xxx, I would be better off.
I like their eqs a bunch.
