One-sentence indie rock confessions

I really, really, really wanted to play guitar in the cavedogs.

I almost tried out for the volcano suns, but I pussied out.

I still listen to and enjoy jimmy eat world.

I find the melvin's "ambient/noise" records tedious.

Aside from the Neurosis/Mastodon show I went to in January, I have not seen a live rock show in about 7 years. And I don't care. I've seen enough. Although it would be fun to see Burma and Pissed Jeans. And BearClaw and Stnnng. And Bellini/Uzeda. And a few others.

Definitely. When they rock, they fucking rock. But those ambient/noise records . . . sheesh.

More power to them, though, if they are free to make these type of records at their liking. As long as they bring the rock periodically.

Some background before I get to my one-sentence confession. The Onion's AV Club sometimes posts this feature wherein the writer listens to the Top 20 pop songs and rates/discusses them; the feature includes YouTube videos. I sometimes check these out.

One week, they wrote about the current country charts.

My confession: I think contemporary country is much, much better than contemporary pop/R&B.

There is no shame in this at all

I personally would like to own this Nudie suit I saw at the Country Music Hall of Fame.

My indie rock confessions:

I played "tic tac" bass in a country band when I was 14. We played shows at American Legions in the area around my hometown.

I fucking love the Pixies and I am completely unable to justify it with anything other than "I just like it" which is all the justification anyone really needs for liking any band.
