Thanks for all the replies. I had another shit night last night but at least there was some Advil this time. I phoned the dental office and pleaded with them so, it looks like they are going to bump my appointment to this coming Wednesday. Also, I've decided to drastically exceed the recommended dose of Advil if necessary. Fuck, my teeth hurt. But hey, at least we got some new signatures out of this thread...

p.s. gotta say it - i had my first (hopefully last) root canal last year. it was weird, AND i glanced over at just the "right" moment to see the nerve being pulled outta my tooth! ugh.

I go in Monday afternoon - this is the first time I've ever been nervous to go for a dental checkup... agh.

If there is stuff stuck to your teeth which is causing pain (like sugary stuff) then wash your mouth with warm water.

If it really is painful after having paracetamol or whatever then I'd go in for an emergency clinic or whatever equivalent you have in the US. Although I understand that the health service isn't quite the same over there...

I don't think it's a good idea to take more than the recommended dosage of Advil.

I don't think it's a good idea to take more than the recommended dosage of Advil.

It's also not a good idea to go insane with acute pain and roll around in bed for a week screaming. 'Sayin. Actually, it's day three of the Advil and I'm still only taking one pill every four hours. I do have to take one or two more a day than what they recommend, but nothing too crazy yet.

Went in for my appointment today. The x-ray showed nothing wrong, but my dentist went in for the kill regardless. He said that there was probably a dead nerve in my back tooth (that sort of thing doesn't always show up in an x-ray). Turns out that ALL the nerves are dead in the tooth and, THANK FUCK, they're all gone now. I will also say that was easily the worst smell I've encountered and I had to sniff it for about half an hour. Sort of like Satan taking his first dump in over a millenia.

But seriously, the smell alone was uh, deeply violating. I'm already having flashbacks from that.

I'm not yet sure, but the work they did today might cost me over $600. I still have to submit the dental work info to my health insurance company and then they get to play God with my finances. Y'all know how it is with those reptiles.

I was so sure my non-flossing was catching up to me, but I guess not - huh.

They found not one thing wrong and in fact complimented me on having good teeth, good bone structure etc. - which was great and all, but why the weird pains - and the only thing we can figure is it is just the sinuses acting up...
