i haven't given a shit about lyrical content since i got out of high school. with some notable exceptions, i wish all music was instrumental.

there's a ton of bands that all of you talk about that i've never ever heard and i'm never going to bother listening to or tracking down, even though i'd probably like them a lot.

i don't give a fuck about tone or tubes or analog or vintage synths or whatever the hell. if i want something to sound a certain way, then yes... it matters for that moment. otherwise, fuck it - gimme a softsynth or a plug-in or something that's quick. i don't have time in my life to track down some arcane goddam thing anymore.

rapeman and naked raygun both kind of sucked.

i'm not a big fan of dissonance or progginess or atonality unless they resolve into traditional western harmony.

i still really like nine inch nails.

an albini-recorded halen album would be better than an albini-recorded ac/dc album. but i would probably rock either one of them hella frequently.

Do you throw your fork every time you "try" to like eating shit, too?

Come on man, stop torturing yourself.

Shorty, Killdozer, and all those other "kinda sound like The Jesus Lizard" bands just fucking suck. Stop trying to like them... headphones are fragile.

Sarcasm, it pains the cockles of my heart. I did not say they are crap... in the way you dismissed polvo entirely & compared them to the 3ds or some other bra size bands.

I just don't like 'most' of their own music since lyrical content is secondary to me & their music seems like mostly bland hard rock & that's the reason I said "live might be different". I did not say that they are crap. I love their cover versions.

Love Shorty & US Maple, own both, lyrics ...don't know anything about it, I'm sure that most of you on this board don't but still love both bands. Music & - lyric delivery rather than the lyrical content are sometimes good enough for me (ex: heysus leezurd, Bedhead) 2 extremes.

Nope..not hurt..not hurt at all.

BadComrade wrote:I still to this day do not understand the appeal of Shorty or US Maple. I guess the main reason is beause I've never liked music that didn't seem like it came about naturally... Music like this sounds really, really forced to me.

I don't subscribe to that statement of yours & Michael Gerald somehow sounds natural & unforced to you? I don't bother about how he sounds but natural & unforced, he certainly is not.

Anyways, l really like "For Ladies only" & have only heard "burl" & "little baby buntin", amongst their albums, which I did not care for. I think I will listen to them again in a day or two. There are a few bands which I have disliked initially & loved later...might be..

I know you don't like US Maple & Polvo

Listen to US Maple - Go To Braises (fit enough to be an entry song for a boxer)

&

Polvo - stinger (five wigs) 5.20 onwards. preferably on a pair of fragile headphones like mine

I think forum member Greg brought them to Electrical and contacted the band.
