i was going to vote not crap based on their name, but then i read the thread, went to their site, and while listening to a couple son...zzzzzzzzz...

I get the feeling lux can speak authoritatively on what this band put in their songs. Call that a hunch if you will.

I will however point out, since no one else has, that:

Very fun live. One of the few bands that gets an exemption from the "no drummer lead vocals" rule.

Not crap at all. Saw these guys open for the Bitter Tears in Ohio a few years back and was immediately charmed. That first EP still makes me smile after many, many listens -- which is hard to say for most other "funny" bands.

LGOOTTSS made a supergreat record called "Listening". The E.P. is pretty good, but "Listening" is lights out, I tell you what.

Anyway, this band is really funny (see, e.g., "Hi, this is Keith Sweat. Remember to go to the polls on election day. Peace."). As a person who likes to have fun and laugh, I appreciate the fact that this band allows me to have fun and makes me laugh. However, anyone who overfocuses on the goofy or "clever" elements of this band misses the bigger picture. There is a very smart, sweet and, from time to time, paralyzingly sad heart at the core of this band's music.

And they write and record excellent, catchy songs.

I had never heard this band before. "My Fucken Family" precisely captures the feelings I get, each time I have to introduce a girlfriend to my parents. This brings up some memories best forgotten, but sometimes music does that.

Edit -- it's a Moog in "Hatchet" per above, but I had said Farfisa because I don't know what I'm talking about. Whatever, it works.
