What about Arsenal?

ARSENAL
9I've got both records. Pretty good, "Factory Smog" is stronger overall, though.
These records make me wonder if Durango's contribution toward Big Black songwriting was more than most people realize.
I mean, it seems like most people take it for granted that Albini was the principle songwriter in that band.
But if you look at Big Black's work, there was a big jump between Bulldozer and Racer-X in terms of guitar approach and overall sound. The guitar parts texture together more, songs like "Sleep" and "Shotgun" have similar motifs to some of the Arsenal stuff. I can't point my finger on it- how to describe it? I almost want to describe it as a "hardcore Japanimation" sound if that makes any sense.
Although Durango played on Bulldozer, it is possible that he first became fully active in songwriting on Racer-X, which would account for these changes.
