Cocktail Party Liberal? Isn't that some guy who makes really strong drinks? Hot puppies! Invite me to that party.

Seriously though, perhaps your character should seek help. He starts out nice enough but as the play wears on and he presumably consumes more alcohol, he starts sounding a lot like some damn Republican.

Ya know, I found a Spongebob Squarepants coloring book for my son that rivals the quality of your writing. (Forgive me, I couldn't resist)

Why close down after 9 or 10 pm and open again the next day at 7, 8, 9 am whatever? Why not just stay open 24 hours. For banks, libraries, movie theatres, what have you? It's patronising to assume everyone has the same sleep schedule, and forcing people to labor against their own somnambulistic instincts is inhuman and responsible for the zombie hordes decimating our quality of life. Just make everything 24 hours. Including Sundays. Why close down on a Sunday just because working on Sunday would offend grandma? Join the 24 Hour Party. Increase employment. Reduce crime (because more people would be up and about during night hours?) I don't know. Is this feasible?

I could get behind an ideology like that!

The perfect campaign anthem for this new party could be the Vibrators' classic "24-Hour People":

He's havin' a good time,
But he's on the dole
Never has no money
But he's into rock'n'roll.

An' you know he's great
You know he's gonna make it
So you, don'tcha stand around and hate it!

Just-a 24-hour people
Yeah they ain't no 9 to 5
I said they're 24-hour people
Won't take that same old jive!

You know she's livin',
In a fallout zone,
Of new wave music,
An' a broken home.

But she's got a young body
And she's got a young mind
Now listen don't you treat her unkind!

'Cos she's 24-hour people,
An' she ain't no 9 to 5.
She's 24-hour people,
Won't take that same old jive!

They're livin' in the city
They know the whole thing's trash.
They don't want their new-style culture
Messed around for cash.

An' you know they're great
You know they're gonna make it
So you, don'tcha stand around and hate it!

'Cos they're 24-hour people
Yeah they ain't no 9 to 5
I said they're 24-hour people,
Won't take that same old jive!

I said they're 24-hour people,
C'mon c'mon
They're 24-hour people
C'mon!

Intercourse that. I'm a light sleeper. Everyone should adhere to my schedule, especially the owners of thumping cars.
