After Sly and the Family Stone's Greatest Hits lp, "Germfree Adolescents" is probably the record I have listened to the most. Got it in 10th grade and it blew my mind. This was before I'd heard the Big Boys and the Dicks and I had no idea punk music could be so fun. This became the inspiration of a standard.

It's joyous.

"Germfree" creates a whole little day-glo world, filled with sarcasm and "the future" as you see it as a little kid, but gone very wrong.

Would have loved to have seen them.

Not crap!!

"Germfree Adolescents" is an excellent excellent album. Still sounds good unlike a lot of other old punk albums. A true classic.

The vocals are part of it's charm. I like their screechiness. I love the sax as well.

Not Crap.

If there were a way you could turn off the vocal track (I'm not saying I don't like her vocals, just hypothesizing here...) the music on a lot of the songs would sound exactly like Minor Threat being played at a slightly slower speed. Emphasis on "slightly" -- this stuff cooks.

Listen to the guitar sound on "I'm a Cliche" and compare it to the guitar sound on MT's "In My Eyes" EP. Exactly the same!

Right on Itchy.
I don't know if you've seen it but they put out a 2 CD version of Germ Free with a bunch of extra stuff, it's awesome. They threw 'Oh Bondage' on there as well as a bunch of rawer mixes of everything which are much better in my opinion.
Even the record they put out in the 90's called 'Conscious Consumer' is pretty damn good.
Stay away from Poly's solo record at all costs, it's abysmal. Sounds like Belinda Carlisle.
Their wikipedia says they are playing somewhere in England in September.

Anyone who complains about her voice is an idiot.
