Hey Tmidgett,

Do you remember playing a show in Iowa (round '96) at a place called the Cavern? I saw you guys play, you were great, the bar was very, very strange, thought you should know. Thanks for playing in Iowa twice, we were happy to have you.

Oh yeah, also, after Pale Fire and Pnin, are there any other Nabokov books that you would recommend?

Thanks for the excellent advice. I found the Merkur razor at the Merz Apothecary. I picked up a badger hair brush and some good quality shave soap to go with it. I just used it for the first time and your description was spot on. No need for an estrogen treatment for this guy now. Thanks.

Did you seriously do this, or are you pulling my leg?

That's awesome.

I am strangely pleased
.
I did in fact do this. I can be rather impetuous at times and your advice was the best I've ever heard regarding razors and shaving. The Merkur feels like a well built tool and I don't think I'll ever regret the purchase. One follow up question- about how many shaves do you get out of a single blade? Thanks again.
Edit: Very rude of me not to ask, besides being beautiful how was Paris? Did you go with your family?

Oh Hai Tmidgett!

The Spurs just finished destroying the Suns 4-1.

I am obviously not Tim Midgett but I think you might be might be in heat & secreting pheromones from somplace between your bumcheeks. I predict a "Zoo: Part Deux" being shot very soon.

I'm not Tim, but there is a great thread about shaving knocking about somewhere, I'm too busy to find it right now, but I think it started out as a C/NC about Gillette Fusion razors...it lead me to invest in a decent saftey razor, brush and soap too, and I have never looked back...I just recently purchased a straight razor too, although am yet to use it...

I don't remember this at all. Unless it was in Cedar Rapids.

Was it in Cedar Rapids?

Oh yeah, also, after Pale Fire and Pnin, are there any other Nabokov books that you would recommend?

I have never finished Pnin. Dunno why. I think it may be the small typeface in my edition.

Anyway, these are all top-notch books:

Despair
Lolita
Laughter in the Dark
Bend Sinister

Ada is a bit of a slog.

I haven't read any of the others.

Tim, can you explain "Uzbek Bread" to me? I am baffled!

I have never heard of this bread.

One follow up question- about how many shaves do you get out of a single blade? Thanks again.

I feel very powerful, having had this immediate effect on your life.

Your blade life will be different than mine, depending on the thickness and coarseness of your beard.

I don't know how many shaves I get out of a blade, but I think I change the blade whenever I start to feel it catch a bit, as opposed to slicing cleanly.

Very rude of me not to ask, besides being beautiful how was Paris? Did you go with your family?

My wife and I went on our own. Great time.

We ate pretty sumptuously. Went to Taillevent, which was maybe the best meal ever. Top three or four anyway.

Walked a hideous amount. Only went to a couple of museums. Slept a lot.

Shopping was pretty awesome. Many things were terrifically expensive due to shit exchange rate, but some stuff was 'affordable.'

It's a tremendously beautiful place.

The Parisian women have it all over the Parisian men. Like, it's not even close. No offense meant to any Frenchmen reading this--I am sure you are all exceptions.

The coffee wasn't that great. It was OK, but nothing on Italy. I make better espresso here. The food was great, but again, in general, I prefer Italy.

Can't beat it for the scenery, however.

I meant to watch this game, but I fell asleep.

Oh well, there'll be more Spurs games this season.

Lately, in the evening, I've been going for walks in the woods by my house. The other night I saw 11 raccoons. 9 were in trees, 2 were on the ground. What do you make of this? Anything?

My first question is, "What kind of trees?"

I'm not Tim, but there is a great thread about shaving knocking about somewhere

Thinking about it, I am about 75% sure I heard about the Merkur razors here.
