I'm waiting on Soriano too. And Matsuzaka's flu killed me- I was in second place in a 16 team league but have dropped to sixth. The Auto draft doled me a roster heavy on the hitting but light on starting ptching. In order to compete I have to hope for big years from Mussina, Randy Johnson and John Lester. Pfff.
Yeah, my league is a keeper league too where we put contracts on players and I have a 3 year contract on Dice K which is the max. I'm a bit worried about his recent control issues and all the batters he's been walking. He hasn't looked very good inspite of being 4-0. The upside is he should have a lot of run support for the unforeseeable future so he'll keep getting wins. With that said, Lester should be ok by the same logic. Moose, is looking ok, but it's a long season and both him and the Unit may break down. I have pettite, and so far he only appears to be a good start against the weaker teams in baseball. I'll probably sit in the upcoming game against the Indians.
I have moved up to 7th place after yesterday, and Soriano did hit a 3 run homer, so maybe this is signs of things to come. However going 1-6 batting is something I really hope doesn't become a regular thing.
