First thing that comes to mind is a newly reunited Unwound. One time he said something about how they never struck him as anything but "meh" (worded differently of course, but that was the gist). Then like a month later, a song of theirs came on during poker and like halfway through he was humming phrases from it. "meh" my ass!

This may or may not have been one of the nights on which I gained a reputation for being a complete moron during poker, saying something like "there's no way I could possibly lose this hand, while (unwound or polvo) is playing!!!"

I would hope for Steve to record them only so he'd gain an appreciation of how mostly-awesome their finest songs are. Totally selfish choice.

That, or the new billion dollar band that doesn't make him wanna puke, with a couple points off the album, so he can make enough goddamn money to never need to work another goddamn day unless he goddamn well feels like it. Homie long since earned it, I'd say. I've seen his billiard game recently. It's a lil' bit suffering.

Record the new Unwound, and the new billion dollar band, and all is well and good.

The new Metallica, motherfuckers!!!!!! HELLS YEAH!!!

seeing "mr. albini" in this thread's title is *so wrong*. how freaky is that, calling him "mister"? I can't say for sure, but I really hope that being called "mister albini" would make him uncomfortable, if he gave a shit about something as inconsequential as that. "mister"? what is he, a CEO or something?

last I heard, he preferred to be called "doctor titlips". WTF?!?

:D : 8) :)
I'd love Albiznonnini recording:
a)Ennio Morricone directing an orchestra of 150 instruments/elements,
performing the entire soundtrack of"Once upon a time in America";
b)Riccardo Muti directing the Chicago Simphony Orchestra
performing Stravinsky music,or some operas like"Madame Butterfly"
or "La Norma".
....maybe it will happen....who never knows....never say never..!! :D

Salut a tutt

steve worked on _the fragile_; i believe the song's name is "i'm looking forward to joining you, finally." that's his trademark sound on whatever percussion it is they're playing.
