The Phantom Tollbooth

Both total mindblowers/ intro- to philosophical and scientific thought for a fifth grader.

You know, I can't remember if I ever got around to The Phantom Tollbooth. But I was crazy-go-nuts for A Wrinkle In Time. Definitely a mind-bender for a pre-teen.

Hadn't thought of that book in years.

Now you're just showing off. Rotten-

But on a different tip I've known a large number of intelligent people that were devoted readers of adult thriller/horror (Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Clive Cussler, John Grisham) from age 10-13. Makes me laugh when I see the growed ups on the train reading that pulp.

To take it full circle I plan on starting Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince this week.

the punisher.

i couldn't get enough of "bad" people being shot/blown up/mutilated/tortured.

seriously, with an exception here and there, i don't remember reading much else 'til high school.

they're making another punisher movie, btw. "punisher: war zone." one of the guys from "rome" is the punisher, fucking wayne knight is microchip.

anyways, yeah, i read a lot of the punisher. i had a punisher t-shirt i wore all the fucking time.
