Yes, Unwound. Oh, and Harvey Milk.
After that, I can only think of artists I'd love to put in a room with Steve, and that's not a very nice thing to wish on him.
Like Steve in a room with a zippo, kerosene, and Kevin Barnes.

You have to admit, the most recent Harvey Milk sounds pretty damn good.
How about someone more unexpected? A band/artist whose recording by Steve may (or may not) be surprisingly kick-ass. Like Dolly Parton.

59I would have ANYONE record the Sabbath reunion record besides Rick Rubin. I heard a demo of one of the songs they were working on with him and yeah, I can see where they just said fuck it and trashed the whole thing. Garbage.

I have a fine album by Eight Bold Souls, an excellent jazz group from Chicago, called Last Option and while it was engineered by Casey Rice, not Mr. Albini, it was recorded at Electrical and sounds wonderful. I saw them play in Ann Arbor several years ago, and Ed Wilkerson Jr., the leader, mentioned the sessions at Electrical and said it was the finest sounding room he'd ever recorded in. He then mentioned that the studio was run by a nice guy named Albini, and that he worked with some really famous rock band ... you know, those kids from Seattle ... they were all over the place for a while ... I had to be the guy that said "Nirvana?" so Wilkerson could name it and move on. The rock geek in the crowd had to do something useful.
