My friend Becky stopped watching The Wire because Wallace's death upset her so much. If that was gonna be par for the course, she figured she'd had enough.

I'm not sure if it's sad or not, but I actually miss hearing people talk in that Baltimore derelict as opposed to everyone in Wisconsin sounding like they're from Fargo.

I get to bail on May 18th. The whole Fargo thing doesn't bug you right away, but it's not long before a thick Southern accent can sound like music in comparison.

Just a horrific scene. What kind of show could make you sympathize with Bodie after that.

This show.

I just finished with Disc 1 of The Corner...

You can definitely see that it's what the Wire evolved from, but equally devastating

The interesting thing is that the Corner is more from the perspective of addicts. With the exception of Bubs, the Wire focuses more on cops, drug dealers, and the outside institutions that power the war on drugs than the actual users.

I dunno...I'm a fan. If nothing else David Simon has had a hand in crafting some of the best TV you could ever want to watch.
You call me a hater like that's a bad thing

Ha ha, enter Season 2, with Ziggy. What an annoying little shit. No one will be spoiling anything for me if they tell me that useless Sobotka spawn gets brained.

I'm taking my time because IMDB says Season 5 DVD release date is August....

My mom and I watched the first three episodes of The Shield on Mother's Day. I wouldn't put it up there with The Wire, but it's pretty good so far.

BER,

when you get to the "cherry poppers" episode, you may have to reassess that.

Yeah, that was pretty intense. I'm definitely getting into it more; Mom says she got into season two even more.
