Microphonic pickups

1
So ive got this mij ri jaguar, very nice guitar (the best neck ive ever played, better than a vintage sixties a friend of mine bought) - but the stock pick-ups didnt have too much definition nor aggressiveness, so i switch them to a couple of seymour duncans, and they sound good, however, they are not potted, apparently - and therefore they are microphonic - which i actually like, played through my t-rex mudhoney fuzz they produce a very noisy and "full spectrum"-y sound. So I guess the question is, can i remove the unwanted squeeling and not that awesome noises without wax-potting them?

ps
ive searched the threads without luck

That would be your best bet.

I have been playing rickenbackers for years, and their pickups are microphonic. I was going get my pickups potted, however I have learned to control the sound or feedback to the tone I want. Another thing to do is try a graphic eq to clean up the sound.

Im pretty sure i went for the s-jag 2s. They cleared up the sound eventhough they are more bassy.

Yeah, the construction on those look like the stock ones under the cover.
Is that how you're supposed to use them? With the original cover and the sawblade extensions?
This is going to get worse before it gets any better.
