Smallbear has tons of transistors that are selected specifically for fuzzboxes and whatnot. If you search Ebay for germanium transistors you should come up with a grip of different types. Most Ge trannies on Ebay will be NPN. The ac127 I believe is and NPN, while the 128 is PNP. You'll want to be sure that you use whatever type the schem calls for. Most Ge trannies will work in a curcuit given that the hfe and leakage are within your requirements.
