"If you just look at the press day, everybody is here, even people from Scotland! All over the world!

Jimmy Floyd... Jerrel... I hope you win the F.A. Cup tomorrow.

I admire Harry Redknapp, and like Portsmouth, and have to say that they deserve to be the favourites. But Jimmy Floyd, you've long been one of my favourite footballers, and comedians.

Salut.

Did anybody here actually watch the FA Cup Final in the end?

I didn't (i watched the brilliant Bronze instead). I'm glad Cardiff didn't win, as any glory that Peter Ridsdale would be able to reflect upon himself is tainted, I feel, and I've no great love for Hasselbaink either (this is tempered by two wonderful Jimmy moments I'm sure I have touched on previously in this thread; first, after his initial non-scoring start at LUFC led George Graham to question whether Jimmy's earring was a sign of homosexuality, Hasselbaink scored a hat-trick and the Evening Post declared 'JIMMY: I'M NO GAY'; secondly after Leeds came from 3-0 down to beat Derby 4-3 Jimmy said "The football is round, and it can do many strange things"); but Cardiff captain Stephen McPhail was one product of the Leeds youth system I was sure was destined for great things and I would not have begrudged him the cup.

Leeds will face Doncaster in the play-off final, which will be a tough game as Doncaster are a tough side. Cue jokes about whippet capacity at Wembley, etc.

Watched the cup final with the Souvarians - it was a passable match. Portsmouth were mediocre at best for much of the game, but over the 90 minutes their superiority eventually asserted itself. It was a reasonably open and passionately contested game, but with little actual skill or excitement in the form of clear cut chances. Kanu's winning goal was a weak, trickling, shambolic affair - not the stuff of legend. But overall it was probably more watchable than a Big Four contest would have been.

An' after all, you got to be 'appy for 'Arry. At the end of the day e's a diamond geezer, top bloke wot lives and breathes the game and is a credit to us all don't you know. I know there's all these allegations and that but e's as honest as the day is long (during a Norwegian winter hardy har har). An' you've got to love 'im, cos 'e gives us free tickets to games just so long as we don't tell you what 'is agent is up to. Should be made a saint really - e's 'ad constant pain in the fleetwood mac ever since that fateful car crash at Italia 90, where e'd gone to sure up connexions wiv the mafia. But do you 'ear 'im complainin' of corse you don't, God bless 'is honest cockerney soul - nor do you 'ear 'im whinin' abaht bein' born wiv a face like a retarded basset hound. Gawd bless 'im, long live St 'Arry and may we all revel in his victory!

www.myfootballclub.co.uk s’est enfin acheté une équipe : Ebbsfleet, à une heure de train de Londres. Question : le football est-il soluble dans le web 2.0 ?

A friend of mine is sending me a copy of this magazine. I love the way English football is perceived in the rest of Europe!

Awesome.

This brings to mind a moment on MOTD2's "2 Good, 2 Bad" segment where they showed a clip of an elderly woman in the crowd giving Bowyer dog's abuse. Adrian Chiles said something along the lines of "It's Lee Bowyer, he deserves it."

The FA Cup final was pretty mediocre, though Stevie Thomson's song was enjoyable.

Dishonourable mention: Joey Barton.. He pled guilty and got sixth months; the Dabo case still pends.

What are they saying here? The film starts shooting soon. I wanted to apply to be a crowd extra today but I couldn't get out of work in time.

John Hartson, fighting spirit…

Didn't John Hartson just retire to eat burgers?

I'm pleased with Ippo's season! Mysterious Marcus Evans has put money into the club and we can actually buy good players in the summer rather than sell the remains of the FA Youth Cup winning side. Well, it is his club now. The best home record in the division was a pleasant surprise and if Magic can sort out the away form I think we can challenge for promotion.

"David Peace, the interview. The English author tells the story of Brian Clough's spell at Leeds. Exclusive: the best pages of David Peace's book on the subject of the legendary manager of Leeds and Nottingham..."

The more I look at the front cover, the more I love it. A can of Stella in one hand, scratching his balls with the other. Is this a real photo? Or posed? If it's the latter, how did they explain what they were after to the model? "look surly and play with your testicles...." It's so fascinating on so many levels....

My God, what the hell was Makelele thinking? Ah well. I guess if I supported Chelsea I would be fine with Wayne Bridge defending over Ashley Cole.

Holy crow, what a fuckup. A two-footed tackle on one of your own team's best defenders......in training......the day before the Champions League final.

I still don't know how to call the match, but that could well be a deciding factor.

And I expect Celtic to win tomorrow and settle things.
