As bitchy as he was, Dale should have been top 4 with Stephanie, Richard, and one of those other schmucks who would have been totally overpowered in the finale. His progress throughout the show has been arguably the best. He was only in the bottom group for elimination ONCE before tonight, compared to Stephanie's 3, Richard's 1, Antonia's 3, Spike's 5, and Lisa's 4. The fact that we're now going to see TWO of either Antonia, Spike, or Lisa in the finale...ugh. It's going to be disgustingly unfair, with Richard and Stephanie being the clear favorites.

The fact that Lisa and Spike are still alive in this competition is, again, a testament to the fact that this year's chefs are probably the worst crop yet in any of the TOP CHEF seasons. I'm not the type of person who is easily upset when it comes to watching a television program, but I have actually started to notice my blood boiling during the past two episodes. What a travesty.

Ted Allen is alright. Tom Collichio and Anthony Bourdain are the brutal ones. I enjoy them. Padma, eh, whatever.

I say make Anthony Bourdain a regular and have Gordon Ramsay make some visits.

She's definitely vindictive enough, but I don't think either Lisa or Dale can control their thinking enough to pull off something like that. Lisa especially is completely ruled by her mood swings. That heavy-lidded thousand yard stare of hers - kee-rist. Maybe it's her meds or something. I think they are actually doing a disservice to her by keeping her around. She's going to kill somebody. I loved that her list of complaints about Dale - Nice projecting, Lisa...

My esteemed colleague Matthew Taylor hit the nail on the head. The producers are editing the show and controlling the outcomes to maintain maximum repeat viewers every week. They want a villain, they want good triumphing over evil, and if we've learned nothing else from professional wrestling, the more outraged the viewers are and the longer they have to wait for justice, the sweeter the finale will be when they finally crown somebody nice like Stephanie or Richard.

But dude, BUTTERSCOTCH on...well, ANYTHING? I had your back up until that one. He couldn't have gotten past Stephanie or Richard, anyway. I'm glad he took his dismissal to heart and didn't go into his badass persona. I kinda felt bad for him.
