Ringo, have you noticed that at the very small venues, the ratio of art douchebags and turtle-neck enthusiasts is almost tripled to the larger ones?
Not really complaining, just saying...lots of copies of Eat, Pray, Love tucked under LL Bean-clad arms.

9342Hm. I don't think that subset of ostentatious Art Aficionado likes Athens enough to live here. Not enough Montessori daycare for infants.
They're here, though, just in their collegiate sack dress and guyliner larval stage.

9343I am at work right now. Last night I drafted (and printed) a resignation letter. I will be leaving it in the office at the end of the day today. I am giving them three weeks notice. I cannot wait to be out of the real estate business. Some of the people in that particular industry are so, so, I guess greedy is the best word to use. Anyway, my new employment will be with a non-profit that provides services (predominately skiing instruction and equipment use) to disabled/challenged individuals. I will be the business manager of their organization. Most exciting is the fact that I will have health insurance. Oh, and I will be making a little more money ($6,500/year more) than I am now and I will get a season ski pass (valued at around $1000). So, here I am at a job I despise, chatting with you fine folks instead of getting anything on my "to do" list done.
Tonight, when I get home, I will have to build another fire in the woodburning stove. We have had three snowstorms in the last week. While all of you are watching the tulips and daisies come up, we are still watching the white stuff fall from the sky. I'm not complaining though, because I am acutely aware of how valuable water is. I know that I am lucky to live somewhere where water problems do not involve not having enough safe water for all to drink/cook/bathe with. I just can't remove the studded snow tires yet... maybe around June 15th.

9344Whilst doing darkroom work today for class, I witnessed two full-time students get into an actual fistfight.
I've never seen the pre-final show tension escalate past screaming matches, so this was simultaneously exciting and upsetting.
Even though I was not on duty, I felt I should try to stop them. I couldn't do it physically, so I tried to de-fuse them by telling them the loser had to print my homework for me.
After the tech who was on duty finally broke it up, one of the students (who happens to be someone I am friendly with) was so embarrassed that he went out and bought coffee for everyone.

9345I had nothing to do, waiting around for the fucking studio to notify me of the directions to get there, when to come in, etc. etc., so I went out and applied for jobs and now I might work at a starbucks.
I need the money.
But I am still gonna pursue this studio job as hard as I possibly can.

9346I got out of bed at 7.35pm whoa
I woke up three times, twice with next doors unholy scottie dog yapping and once hearing it pour with rain. That was a three strike rule on today so just kept rolling over.

9348I have done literally zero work today.
I came in, sat down and started posting on here, craigslist and trying to win weird guitar pedals on ebay.
I have won none of the pedals I wanted but I accidentally won a psychedelic oil light projector. That should be kind of fun in the living room.
Maybe I post too much on here, but I would go insane otherwise. I am here alone staring at the wall. I dislike talking on the phone, so that's out.
I made food earlier, so that's out. I locked up and went for a walk, that ate up about a half hour. I drove to the airport and handed in some customs paperwork, that killed a half hour. Now I have 3 more to go.
Jesus. I'm cracking up.
