Yeah, but it's no use when he never turns on his cell phone.

Sadly, yes. Whittier, about 25 miles outside of LA.

That's why everybody rides choppers there!

No, they ride them for vanity purposes.

Hell, they are even more particular about where they park than people in cars are.

I have had exactly one day off in the last 15 days. I expect the next two or three weeks will be 7 days a week, 14-16 hours per day as we prepare for a big trial set to kick off sometime in mid June and right now it is expected to last until September. Thank god I will not be at the trial every day. I am not the lead attorney, but he is driving me batty - this is the biggest case of his long and distinguished career, and he is getting a little neurotic, we are making all sorts of contingency plans for shit that will not happen, and if it does, it is easy to deal with on the fly. Of course I have a dozen other cases that are not idle, either. It is a busy time in the office.

On the other hand, the good news is that they decided a couple of weeks ago to make me a partner. a junior partner, with no actual ownership interest. but still, that was nice. i guess i'm not a complete fuckup.

That's great!

Stuff I threw out today: boxed software like Xres and Quark Copy Desk, a shitload of books like Photoshop expert manuals, Unix for the Impatient, assorted Java books.

Why did I hang on to this stuff? I have no idea. GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE.

I walked into a record store yesterday applying for jobs (they have the same staff for 15 years - guess not) and I noticed they had a Kay guitar on sale for $30.

I actually considered buying the piece of shit.

Also, any of you out there know how to make a guitar slide from a beer bottle? I want a guitar slide but I can be really cheap, and spending $20 or more on a glass tube seems like a waste to me.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.
