I actually considered buying the piece of shit.

Also, any of you out there know how to make a guitar slide from a beer bottle? I want a guitar slide but I can be really cheap, and spending $20 or more on a glass tube seems like a waste to me.

For $30 you should buy that guitar.

Is it one of the old ones with the F-holes?

Those guitars can be interesting pieces of shit.

FYP.

Yes, buy it. You can then sell it for more to someone for whom having a decent playing guitar is far from their first priority.

Sorry, didn't mean to unleash your fucking fury.

Ha! Good memory.

If Steve Albini (and most of this forum it sometimes seems) can play variations on Jerry Garcia's guitar, then I think it's ok for me to play a guitar not to far from YJM's. I am not ashamed in the least. In ten years the fucking fury stigma will have worn off and all the hipster kids and beardies will want one.

Those Kay guitars? Seriously, I haven't played one that was not a total dog. I guarantee 100% that someone will pay you much, much more than the guitar's worth as a music making instrument, as opposed to it's worth as piece of retro-cool.

No, one of the ones with the F-holes would have been way better than this one. This guitar was a malformed almost-Jaguar-esque-except-retarded solidbody with a weird redburst finish, six-tuners-in-line headstock, one pickup of indeterminate type, five strings and what looked like a wooden bridge. Truly a Pawnshop Craptacular.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

You can't have a van and not leer. It's on page 6 of the owner's manual fer chrissakes.

There are people out there who consider this type of guitar a classic! I don't know what they do with them. Certainly they don't play notes on them.

I am gonna have to agree with the madman on this one.

I had an old bettered Kay acoustic with some f-holes in it, and I got it set up by a guy who did it as a project. Played ok, not great, but it was a real looker.

someone did offer me a stupid amount of money for it, and since I wasn't really serious about guitar, I said "CATCH!"

This guitar sounds like something only the guy from Unsane could love.

I have a frankenstein Kay body with a Dano coke bottle neck. Two sheetrock screws and some dressy washers holding the neck on. Apparently someone had some fun with factory buyouts. It is one of the best 'home guitars' I've ever owned and every time I pick it up I write a new song with it.

A friend got it for me for $75 out on the ass-end of Long Island years ago to repay a debt. I saw another one go for mad $$$ on an ebay auction a couple of years ago. I have no other experience with Kay's but this fucker is a solid NC.

HookerDragger was supposed to play with 25 Ta Life this weekend but our lead guitarist cut his wittle fingew. I thought metal was about blood and pain but I guess that's only if you are Finnish.

I fucking hate 25 Ta Life. Rick is a friendly guy but the music and concept, she is dog residue.

However it was going to be the one show at this Poughkeepsie venue where we wouldn't be required to sell tickets, since it was a last minute gig. For that reason I am dissapointed. But I hate 25 Ta Life.
