Now we're ganging up!
I guess it will be even better to hear them play live.
Hey Tmidgett
452Hey Tim, do you still have your wedge? Are you gonna make up the Texas tour dates? What's Canada like?
Hey Tmidgett
454Dear Mr. T-
Is it true what the say about green M&M's?
Oh, and the purple Bubble Yum did in fact have spiders eggs, didn't it?

455Dear tmidgett
I am wondering, though: what was used to produce that fucking incredible guitar sound? Aside from layering tracks and having guitars playing different chords.

I was listening to this song today! I think it's my favorite Silkworm song.tmidgett wrote:If I was going to play one Silkworm song, I would play "Don't Look Back."

456Hello Tim,
I was wondering if you had any thoughts on the band Shalimar. I think they're fucking great.
Best,
RSM
I have to confess I didn't know a goddamn thing about Shalamar.
Having surveyed them on the YouTubes, it seems like the kind of thing I could like. What I heard was way more R&B than I expected.
I guess I probably like a reasonable amount of R&B-based disco. But it's totally random.
Odyssey. I like a couple of those records.
I am a massive Chic fan, though I think they are so great they utterly transcend any genre.
I also love Boney M, but that music is fucking insane. I'm not quite sure what it is.
for a long time she would never say "I like SKWM" and I think this partly becuz my friends and I were such HUGE fans that she wouldn't want to seem like she was trying to get in on a dude thing.
Hmmm. Seems reasonable.
I'm not explaining it right, what I'm trying to say is that maybe all those "bored" g-friends were actually just "secret" fans.
Oh, I doubt that ALL of them were. At this point in my life, I can tell when a woman is bored.
Tim, any chance you will have the new EP for sale in Paris?
I guess there's a CHANCE. 5%? That seems about right.
It is very unlikely. It is about as likely as Hillary Clinton ending up with the Democratic nomination for President of the United States.
Hey Tim, do you still have your wedge? Are you gonna make up the Texas tour dates? What's Canada like?
Wedge, still have it. I thought idly about selling it, but my wife talked me out of it.
TX, we were coming down b/c the Mountain Goats wanted us to do the shows, but they have had to back off touring for a while. It's conceivable we will be down there this year, but no plans.
Canada is pretty good in spots. The big cities tend to be great. Banff area is mindblowing in its beauty. Tim Hortons is a shit donut, and it can be hard as hell to get fucking ice in a to-go beverage.
Is that what you had in mind?
Nice show, dude.
Thanks. Super fun. Thanks for coming.

Bubble Yum, I highly doubt it.
Green M&Ms, I have never tested this rigorously--double blind, multiple test subjects, etc. Nor have I any results from other researchers. But the placebo effect is a mighty thing.

Thank you. I think it is awesome. I do not feel too weird about saying that--it's made awesome by so many things that have nothing to do w/me in particular.
Guitar stuff is two tracks, going for it. Same gtr and amp for both tracks. I can't remember what the gear was.
Andy Cohen can just make that kind of sound. It is in his hands. He can make something like that sound with about a hundred different guitars and any old amp pretty much.
However, I have to say that, last night, it was nice to hear us through the big amps after months of practicing on small stuff. It's not like it's totally irrelevant.
Hey Tmidgett
457TM,
Thanks for the free show last night. It was very good. Nice to chat with you briefly as well. I was a bit drunk.
Question! Before the aforementioned rock show, I told a friend that I was heading out to see "The Bottomless Pit". I now realize that I often say "The Bottomless Pit" rather than just "Bottomless Pit". How do you feel about this? Is it a 60s thing? Examples: The Pink Floyd, The Jefferson Airplane.
Regards,
Mr. King

Hey Tmidgett
458Tim,
Please set up a hotline in the future that I can call before bad decisions are made on my part.
Also, what are the chances of you dudes ever playing a show even remotely near Saskatchewan? In fact, did you ever play Saskatchewan at all? Did five people show up? I bet five people showed up.

Whoa...my ex's gigantic family is from Saskatchewan. Three or four of them have sold their farms in the past few years, which is sad because it's all they have ever known.
These days, the highlight of the week is when they gather the family around the television on Sunday to watch those preachers yell at them through the warm glow of the electric box.
Getting old sounds like suck.
