I'm about a million percent into this show.

It's right up my alley.
So happy to hear this.
I love historical based stuff and this show is beyond great and if you can stomach the inaccuracies and deal with the language, you'll be well entertained.
My mom loved Ian McShane in "Lovejoy", but could not deal with the language on this show.
It's a real shame because once you get past that, it is truly great television.
It's just almost better than "The Wire."

The roommate and I are watching the first season, and have no idea what the big deal is. Episodes 9 and 10 (as far as we've gotten) show glimmers of life, in that the writers seem content to just let Swearengen give extensive soliloquies.

What awesome aspect are we failing to be totally into here? All sorts of people whose judgement I trust gush over this show endlessly and I just don't get it.
