Yeah, it has some very sketchy areas and rampant poverty. I remember hearing gunshots all the time and had friends who were robbed and shot at. It's gotten better. And it is slowly, reluctantly trying to become a less segregated and post-confederate, southern shithole.

A good friend, previous co-worker and person I shared a practice space withwas murdered along with his entire family almost two years ago. It was easily one of the most fucked up, senseless, cruel things that has ever affected me. It also made me reconsider my feelings about the death penalty, and about ever stepping foot in that city again. Turns out the murderers were from visiting from Philly.

I knew the Harvey's. That was some awful shit right there.

I'll admit it. Richmond is not my favorite city for this very reason.
