the univox proyect dragged and dragged. the body is repainted in a nice dark chromey red color but i still dont have it. but i think that i will convert it into a bass vi type instrument. the scale seems about right, the neck width at nut, and - best of all - it supports standard guitar sized humbuckers. so all good. will post pics when complete, i promise.
couldn't fix the reverb and tremolo on the twin. just moved out and i dont have money. shouldn't be too expensive to take those things from the states to here.
im anyways considering fixing it up, selling it for $$$ and buying a new deluxe reverb. but maybe it's not a good idea.
so yeah, i'm a pussy.

If McGarvey ever gives mine back, you can have it.
I'd jump on that like a pack of dingos on a toddler, believe me.

The last three or four times I've heard a really cool distortion sound at a concert and thought "What made that fantastic sound!" it turned out to just be a Rat with the volume cranked.

fuck. i wanted a rat for free.

well, I wanted to buy your ts50 head, but fucking steve beat me to it.
he's got so many, and I have none.

now you know how it feels, Jimmy fly!

now you know!
kerble is right.

i run:
guitar - MXR noisegate / line driver - Harmonic Perculator - Crowther Audio Hotcake (one of the first batches of these that Paul made) - DOD Buzzbox - Boss Tuner - Amp.....i also own a neat version of the Hotcake called a "Double Hotcake" which is actually two hotcakes in the one pedal. apparantly it is a regular hotcake, then a modded hotcake, then it even has an additional gain blend! it is crazy.

i'm seconding this - i'm using one, and i fucking love it. i drop down to a, and when i click this on, i don't lose any of the low end - it just gets even more massive.

it's not "distortion" though - i suppose it's more of a "fuzz".

which ever, it's badass.

Best pedal I have ever bought. My friend Sonny makes them. They are copies of the big green USSR big muffs. They sound better than the originals. If you can, I recommend picking one of these up!

I currently use a Turbo Rat
DOD compressor FX80-B
Boss Chorus CE-2
Boss Octave OC-2
Boss Flanger BF-2
Danelectro Tuna Melt Trem
and an Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man

I've found this is a great set up for noise experiments.

I also know Sonny and have tried out his pedal. I wasn't personally very impressed. Not my style I guess---Turbo Rat fan for life!! Certainly not the only distortion pedal worth buying! That's like saying Rush is the only way to play REAL technical guitar.

Haha, go get'em Bugsy, you nerd. And I'm grilling you on that animal cruelty icon later

Lately I've been using -

Boss ODB-3 for a subtle bass boost and just a bit of grit. A lot of times I'll click it on and off really fast to accent certain notes or get a quick burst of feedback.
an old Ibanez 7 Band EQ for a bit of a treble/mid boost when I want it. The level is juiced on it.
Fulltone Fulldrive 2 Mosfet. The guitar one, not the bass. Great for chordal/wall of noise/feedback type stuff.

Even still, these pedals are almost always off. I play lightly with my index, middle, and thumb 80 percent of the time. When I want to get loud and overdriven, I just grab a pick and play harder. There are some really dynamic sounds possible with the Ovation Magnum III and Traynor YBA-3.

Since I rebought the Zvex Machine, I haven't taken it out of the house once. Someone should buy it. I still have the gas rag it came with, too.
