I'll be honest, I didn't make it past the second song. It's that guys voice, why does he do that? The music was good though.
I will try to sit through all of it soon!

3953The mass quantities of High Rise and Ohkami no Jikan stuff are indeed amazing. Thank you so much for all of that - particularly the Ohkami no Jikan tapes.
I really miss those bands. Seeing High Rise in Chicago in '98 was like the highlight of my life, and the Ohkami no Jikan shows around that time were similarly awesome. Seems like Nanjo Asahito has dropped off the face of the earth. Really a shame. He was the man. All of his bands were phenomenal.

As for my contributions, you are very welcome! Glad you like them. Let me know which ones you want re-posted and I will rip them again.
I still have to post the first 5 from the High Rise set again. I just have to upload them, I have already ripped them.

I don't think he has called it quits with Musica Transonic, TOHO SARA, High Rise and Mainliner, although nothing new has come out lately.
Speaking of Mainliner..

3956Fantastic! I've been curious about "Solid Stick Attack" for a while.
I haven't downloaded all of the High Rise stuff just yet (after all, how many versions of the same songs can ya hear? It's overwhelming!). The Ohkami stuff was a welcome treat though. Wish I'd had more money to load up at the merch table in the late 90's when Nanjo would visit the U.S. with his various projects. I never knew what to do in the face of all of those cassettes of various projects - none of which were all that cheap if memory serves.
When I interviewed Kawabata Makato about a year ago I asked him about Nanjo and he said:
"I’ve never heard anything from him since 1997 or 98. Because I left from Mainliner and we completely finished. Also now he doesn’t play anything for a long time. Even in Japan. High Rise has almost stopped for a couple years"
There have been a couple later Musica Transonic releases but I think that was all older stuff that Nanjo cobbled together. From what I understand, he's not exactly known for his ethics when it comes to releasing things without cluing in the other people who are involved.

i think that as far as people connected to the scene know, he has kinda vanished. he hasn't been heard from in a few years, i believe. he's pretty nuts so it's not a major surprise, i guess.
if you want to get in touch with him though, i guess you can try this

For now, only d/l the most recent of the high rise that I posted. The first 5 cd's of the set were ripped at 128, you don't want them. I will try and get the first 5 up tomorrow.
To answer your question, many many versions. I will happily hear them all!

Yeah, I have kind of thought that as well. I am not sure how a lot of these box sets that I have were released, or more accurately, if they were officially released.

Thanks, but I really don't want to contact him!
