BadComrade, if you need any of these tracks, PM me and I'll point you in the right direction.
Tim Cook would be the man to talk to about anything Silkworm/JRLP related.
Recommend me some Joel R.L. Phelps
42There was also a cover (w/ the secret three) of "Cortez the Killer" on the secret three's website. It appears to be down now.

43I have recordings of the last two Seattle shows on my soulseek (username=meverat).
also 3 rare tracks that were on JRLP.com for a few days then taken down
- Chaplin's Radiotelephone (alt) - rocking version!!!
- from up here (live at the OR)
- who can I burn (alt)
if anyone has the files that BadComrade put up here let me know. The sendspace stuff is expired.

45They're all great, but I've got to say that I really love Inland Empires. You get stellar covers of the Go Betweens, Iris Dement, and Townes Van Zandt. These are sad fucking songs.

46At one or two shows I have heard Phelps play "Severance Pay".
"Earth shook, EARTH SHOOK".
Christ.
I have also heard the Downer Trio play this other song called something like "Thank You and Goodnight".
I would say that 80% of that song is one chord.
One chord.
The rest of it is zero chords.
It is incredible.

47@BadComrade, I've heard good things about drop.io It may be a better alternative to sendspace. You can host up to 100 megs free.
@Hosoi, I saw the trio do Severance Pay at the Sunset Tavern. I really wished I taped that show. The new song you are talking about, I call it "Lay Down and Good Night". He introduced it as "a song for my friend". I'm guessing that it may be about Michael. The song is awesome electric but is not as hot solo acoustic.
There's another new song he's been playing that is probably either called "Don't Cry no Tears" or "The Harbour is Home". I'm pretty sure that it's not a cover. And "that nashville sound" of course which you can hear on the WFMU set.
If you are a newbie to Phelps I would suggest buying both Blackbird and Inland Empires at the same time.
