Also, for more search tweakage, after a search or when on a non "overview" page, click the link for "Advanced Search" next to the search button. Go nuts.

when I tried the search within feature with "pick up only" selected , it seemed to return all items within regardless of pickup or not.

Oh, also, check the box under "advanced" for "free shipping", which all local-pickup auctions will have.



It's worth your time to look through all the listings within 25 miles of your home to see if any are local pickup only. I mean, if you're gonna save $100 or $300 on the thing you buy, it's worth your time to look at a handful of auctions and determine which ones do or don't have local pickup only.

thanks for the suggestions. i am glad the "secret" is available to the forum members. most of us probably aren't living within 50 miles of each other anyway so it doesn't matter.

I would guess that 50 percent of us live within 5 miles of each other. Just a hunch. Midwestern guys who like scree-type guitars and really prominent drum sounds also tend to stay put.
