For work I am watching a video about bread. From Canada. From the 80s. OMG>>>>>>

The back says:

Kneaded, baked and sliced, this common food has built cities, changed religion and brought governments to ruin. We examine the rise and fall of our daily bread.

I can't figure out what the synth in the music bed is but it's incredible.

I am not sure what I will have to do but I am getting a free hotel room.

When is the Olympics anyway?

The Winter Olympics in Vancouver goes down in 2010.

I just finished my first week at my new job. What a relief to NOT be working in the real estate industry anymore. Now, I am working for a non-profit that provides instruction/equipment/ski partners for people with disabilities. We also have a smaller, summer program (rafting, horseback riding, fly fishing) and have special (week-long) events for wounded warriors from the most recent wars. I am the business manager for this organization, so I do the bookeeping, organizing of files, and will help with the new capital funds campaign drive which means not-so-much hands-on work with who we are serving. Not to say that I can't borrow the sit-ski one day and try skiing down with it. The best part of my job though, is that I now have health insurance and a season ski pass (plus a sustantial pay increase). The funny thing is, the stress level is so much less than the previous job, while I am getting so much more!!! I am really happy with my new career move.

If it cures hangovers, I don't see why it would not be useful to prevent hangovers. The best defense is a good offense, or something. I am not a bad man. Sparky is just showing his courage and taste. Bravo.

I should disclose here that:

1. I knew that it was a hangover cure.
2. I was not hungover.
3. I really enjoyed it!

Hm. Lucky am I that a good non-drinking friend is visiting next week before I start experimenting with drinking vodka through the eyes.

Well done, old chap!

some arsonist just set a fire five miles from my house; he was seen setting fires along the freeway. and no one ran him over.

i gotta go home.

Jesus. Sorry to hear that and I hope that your home is okay. If it makes you feel any better, I'd have stopped my car and set the arsonist on fire.

It is absolutely miserable today, especially without A/C. I think I've consumed at least 3 quarts of water thus far. Worst heat since the 104 degree day back in mid-May and it's supposed to be just as hot tomorrow.

Anyone have a good idea for a Bay Area beach (either ocean or lake) where there won't be a zillion screaming kids running wild? I'd be willing to drive about 80 miles if it meant that I could escape the heat and also mostly avoid people's demonspawn.
