Wrong.

I don't care if Sims could play faster - Pew had the sound. Not even Sims - a truly great bassist, don't get me wrong - had that sound. Only Jah Wobble had a better one.

actually his rapeman sound reminds me of the tone in that one version of "dead joe."

they both played jazz basses. they had almost the same sound a lot of the time. pew never had that "goat" sound either.

also, it's not a matter of playing faster, he was more musical. a very fine bassist.

sims is good, but a tracey pew bass line is the sonic equivalent of raw doggin' it.
